Staccato® & Colour Management

Staccato
Staccato screening and printing to ISO standards is in our opinion the only way to get the best out of the images we print. An opinion shared by our high profile clients.

Also called frequency modulation (FM) or stochastic screening, Whitehorse-Synergie’s high definition Staccato screening uses much finer, randomly placed same size dots, varying the density to create an image that is closer to continuous tone than conventional halftone processes. The result is outstanding image reproduction, giving exceptional depth, detail, contrast, range of colour and vibrancy.

This is why at Whitehorse-Synergie, unless specifically requested, all jobs are printed using this high definition screening at no extra cost.

Colour Management
Colour management is a key attribute to maintaining optimum image quality, that is why Whitehorse-Synergie operate to ISO12647-2 as our in-house colour printing standard.

One of the major advantages of the ISO 12647-2 Colour Standard is that professional agencies, designers and photographers are able to utilise the ISO coated profiles themselves, view their images or artwork on calibrated monitors and be confident that what they capture, is what will be reproduced on the presses. More and more professionals are recognising the importance of the implementation of an International Colour Standard, it is this standard and experience that enables us to achieve the high quality image reproduction we currently produce.

To obtain the best results producing images the following ICC colour profiles should be used when converting images from RGB to CMYK:

nISOCoated V2 when printing on coated papers
nISOuncoated when printing on uncoated papers

These profiles are freely available from
http://www.eci.org/doku.php?id=en:downloads

Please note: unless we are asked to do so we do not alter the colour profile of your CMYK images.

Unless otherwise requested all jobs are printed to ISO using the high definition Staccato screen.
