WHP Celebrates Top Industry Award
The directors and staff of White Horse Press, Newbury, are celebrating this week following the company's victory at the Printing World Awards on Thursday, July 6 th , where joint MD's Steve Greener and Peter Arnel collected the award for "Best SME (Small to Medium sized Enterprise) Print Business".
The annual Printing World Awards celebrate the very best in British printing, and the presentation night, held at London's Grosvenor House, Park Lane, was attended by some 800 of the country's leading print business owners and equipment suppliers. The awards were presented by TV personality Dara O'Briain .
"When you consider that the vast majority of printers in the UK fall into the "SME" category - in excess of 11,500 print businesses - it was a tremendous honour for White Horse Press to be considered for this award," said Steven Greener. "We knew we were on the final short list of three, but to hear our name announced to the packed Grosvenor House audience as the best SME print business in the country was great moment," he added.
Peter Arnel added, "The whole team at White Horse puts in a lot of work on a day-to-day basis to ensure that we are a good, responsive supplier producing high quality work for all of our clients. It feels good to be recognized by our industry for this effort."
In its brochure for the evening, distributed after the awards had been presented, Printing World magazine commented: "White Horse Press was a clear winner in this category. It's been a meteoric few years for the firm, doubling its turnover since 2003." It went on to say, "If the past five years are anything to go by, WHP looks to have a very bright future indeed."
The SME print business category is for printing companies producing up to £5 million turnover. "We may well have outgrown this category by next year," said Steve Greener. "So it was even better to win it at what will probably be our last attempt!" BACK TO NEWS INDEX |
