Operations Director for WHP
White Horse Press, has expanded its management team with the appointment of Michael Bye as Operations Director. Michael has already been working at the company in a consultancy role for 18 months, but, with the current rate of expansion, it was decided to invite him to work at the company on a full-time basis.
Michael Bye has worked within the print sector for over 20 years, operating mostly in senior operational management roles in a variety of print companies including sheet-fed, web-offset and a daily newspaper. In all of his roles, significant focus has been required in quality initiatives, cost reduction and productivity improvements. Michael has operated as a consultant for a number of years, providing both technical and operational support to a wide range of organisations.
Backing up extensive operational experience, he has undertaken postgraduate development through the Institute of Directors and the University of Wolverhampton. A firm believer that sustained results can only be achieved through people, Michael is also a Chartered Human Resources professional and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Commenting on Michael's appointment, Steve Greener, joint managing director of White Horse Press, said: "We have grown at such a phenomenal rate over the last few years it was becoming essential to increase the management team. Michael's appointment will allow him to concentrate full-time on a number of important tasks, and will also mean that I am able to dedicate more of my time to customer facing activities."
In joining White Horse Press on a full-time basis, Michael plans to build on the good practices that have already been developed including the adoption of standards such as ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001. As one of a handful of UK based Pantone Accredited printers, WHP has been successful in winning a number of prestigious awards.
On a personal note, Michael says that his only claim to fame was appearing with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - a pretty good claim to fame many would say!
