White Horse Press – Celebrates Top Industry Award The directors and staff of White Horse Press, Newbury, are celebrating this week following the company's victory at the Printing World Awards on Thursday, July 6th White Horse Gains Colour Accreditations White Horse Press has announced that it has gained accreditation in both ISO 12647-2 and the Pantone Printer Accreditation Program for its process colour printing. The news follows a previous announcement in January of this year regarding the installation of Kodak Matchprint Proofing systems as part of the company’s drive towards the ISO 12647-2 colour standard. WHP: Second UK Printer to Reach Colour Standard Accreditations As mentioned in our main story, White Horse Press, Newbury, has qualified as a Pantone Accredited Printer, becoming only the second company after The Stationery Office to have met the high quality printing and proofing standards demanded by the Pantone Printer Accreditation Program (PPAP). As many customers will already know, White Horse Press has recently been conducting a customer survey in order to gain an insight into how you see us as a business. Ram Bundling at WHP White Horse Press has added a “ram bundling” facility to its finishing department, following requests from customers for such a capability. This method of “packaging” requires a specific amount of printed copies to be sandwiched between two hardboard end plates. Closing the gate WHP has extended the range of folding options that are available through its finishing department with the addition of an extra unit to one of its folding machines. Stacked Out As a further productivity enhancement in the folding area of the finishing department, the company’s Stahl folders have been updated with stacking units and software updates. Finishing Expansion Enhancements to the busy finishing department don’t end there. More Space WHP has recently announced a major expansion to its Hambridge Lane, Newbury, premises. The company is taking over the next door industrial unit, taking floor space at the company from 9,000 sq ft up to 17,000 sq ft. Further expansion may also be announced in the very near future, but this near doubling of capacity will mean that WHP will shortly be in a position to announce a range of new services. WHP invest in latest superior quality platemaking WHP has upgraded in platetting system with the latest Creo Lotem 400 Quantum machine. The system exposes pages directly to the plate at ultra high resolution, and is capable of imaging up to 25 plates per hour. For added efficiency the system is linked directly to a Kodak plate processor, meaning that dry, ready to print plates are delivered. WHP gain new standard White Horse Press, Newbury, is delighted to announce that it has achieved the standard required to qualify for the ISO9001:2000 accreditation.
